tomato, diced :2
onion, diced :2
cashew nuts : 6-8
green chilly : 1
Butter : 4 tbspn
Ginger -Garlic Paste : 1 tbspn
paprika powder : 1 1/2 tbspn
salt : to taste
honey/sugar : 2 tbspn
cardamom powder :1/2 tspn
garam masala powder :1 tbspn
kasoori methi powder :2 tbspn
cream :about 5 tbspn
Method:
- Cut the paneer into small cubes and fry slightly till golden colour. However this frying step is optional
- Sauté the tomatoes, onions, green chilly and cashew nuts together in a pan with little oil for 4-5 mins or till they softens and all the raw smell vanishes
- Blend these ingredients to a fine purée
- Take some butter in the same pan , add ginger garlic paste, add the paprika powder, saute for just 30 sec n add in the puree. Cover and cook for some time(about 15 mins) till all the raw smell disappears
- after 15-20 mins add honey, kasoori methi powder, salt and cardamom powder
- Add the paneer cubes, cover and cook for 5 more mins
- lastly add the garam masala, stir and finally top up with some fresh cream
- Serve with chapati or rice
Note:
- Its better to fry the paneer before adding into the gravy if its not fresh.
- Store brought tomato puree could also be used instead of fresh ones. in this case it could be directly added without sautéing and grinding
- Slightly roast the kasoori methi in a shallow pan, add by rubbing it between both the palms
