Peas-Potato yellow rice

1 cup Basmati rice
1 cup green peas
1 big patato(chop into chunks)
1 slit green chilli
2 tspn ginger-garlic paste
1/2 tbspn turmeric pwdr
1 tbspn red chilli pwdr
1 tbspn salt
3-4 cloves
1 tspn jeera
4 tbspn oil

  • Wash the rice, drain water n keep aside for 15 mins
  • Mix all the dry powders in a small bowl(turmeric, red chilli powder, salt)
  • Grease some oil in the pressure cooker , once hot add jeera and cloves, wait till they crackle.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and then add all the dry powder, immediately pour half cup water. Turn the flame on high. Add potatoes n green chilli. When the oil starts separating ,add green peas, keep stirring.Now add the rice and fry for 2 mins.Add 2 cups of water. Check for salt n chilly. pressure cook till 2 whistle 
  • Serve hot with raita or simply plain curds

Cooking time - 30 mins

Note: volume of water varies for different qualities of rice
