Pesarattu is a popular south Indian breakfast and lunch dish. Basically it is a dosa(pancake) made from moong daal(green gram). Green grams are a very good source of proteins, thus making it a perfect and healthy breakfast.
Ingredients:
Whole green moong : 1 glass
Rice : 1/4 glass
onions : 1 small
onions, chopped : 1 big
ginger : 1 inch piece
jeera/cumin : 1 tspn
green chillies : 2-3
salt to taste

Method:
- Wash n soak rice and moong with excess water for 6-8 hours or overnight
- After 6 hrs, grind them together along with 1 small onion, ginger and green chilly
- Grind it to a smooth paste with little water and salt
- Batter should be of medium consistency.Add some more water if required
- Remove the batter, add a tspn of cumin and mix it thoroughly
- Heat a non stick dosa pan , take a ladle full of batter n spread in circular way. Try to spread as thin as possible.
- Immediately sprinkle some chopped onions on the dosa and slightly press with a spatula
- cook for 3-4 mins on medium, drizzle a tspn of oil around the dosa
- allow them to turn golden brown n then carefully flip it on the other side
- cook for few more mins , take out.
- I prepared hing chutney instead of traditinal ginger chutney
Makes: about 10-12 dosa
